Mrs. Armida Hemeling is German, married, has one child, and is an expert in circular economy and green growth in infrastructure with expertise throughout the European Union as well as in South and Eastern Europe. Starting in 2007, she keeps focusing on closing-loop programs for the circular economy and strategies to increase the re-using of secondary raw materials and reducing the use of fossil fuel in production processes. Given her expertise, knowledge, and focus, she anticipated the 2016 Housing and Sustainable Urban Development Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and UN Habitat III as a representative of the industry invited by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Mrs. Hemeling is also a board member at a scientific advisory board of a renewable energy corporation as well as a board member of a German association focused on research and education in the field of environment and climate protection. She was also a speaker at the Virtuous Circle of the EU Commission DG Environment in Romania, the first German-Brazilian Congress in Sao Paolo, and several other conferences and congresses throughout Europe. Mrs. Hemeling is pro-actively investing in and supporting start-ups as an accredited business angel at Business Angel Netzwerk Deutschland e.V (BAND).
Before these capacities, Mrs. Hemeling has worked for international consulting companies and on the management board of a European IT corporation operating in more than 42 markets with a turnover of more than €8.7bn per year.
